Mid - February Update

Unless you are a snow boarder, Skier, or love making snow men this has been a rough winter.  On the course where we are trying to get a few things accomplished, it has really been a tough winter.   Need less to say we are behind with some of our projects.  The installation of our new irrigation pumps has been  progressing  --but slowly and we have not had a chance to start our tee expansions.  We are anticipating that some of the work will have to be done in the beginning of the golf season.   Let's hope for a warm dry March!!

What does this winter mean for the Grass?   In a word.  "I do not know".   I guess that's three words but Mother Nature holds all the cards.  We had some extremely cold temperatures earlier this winter.   Normally when it gets that cold we have some snow cover and that helps insulate the ground.  This year there was no snow cover when it was cold.   Now we have more snow than we know what to do with.  Depending on when and how it all melts will be a factor in determining if we will have any turf loss.   I will keep you posted as time progress.
Too much weight on the branches of these bushes on the left of sixteen.   I haven't been able to get around the course to see if we have any other damage.

Work is progressing slowly in the pump house.

We hosted a Sparkill Creek Committee meeting.  There are some exciting things about to happen in our water shed!!!
