HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year everyone.  I hope you had as good a holiday as I did.  I was able to spend time with friends, family and recharge my batteries.

  • We have officially started the irrigation system.  The contractor, engineer and architect were all here this morning getting started.  The contractor will spend the rest of this week and next mobilizing. This means  they are starting to bring in their trailers and materials.  The "shovel" should go in the ground around the 16th.  They will start to install the main lines.  These are the pipes that run parallel to the fairways and are considerably larger than the laterals which are the pipes that feed the sprinkler heads.   The goal is to work our way up to the clubhouse and finish that area  first.  When the season begins they will be away from the more congested clubhouse area.  With good weather we are hoping to have the main lines installed on holes 15, 14, and 18 by the end of the month.

  • We will be meeting to discuss cart paths and pond projects in the next few weeks.  I may be optimistic but  I am hoping to be able to start some of the path work this spring.

  • The Greens and Grounds staff is busy with our normal winter activities.  Sharpening and servicing our fleet of mowers, painting ball washers, garbage cans, and benches.  Splitting wood and trimming trees is all but a few of the winter projects we do every year.  The golf course has been set up for winter play. Holes 12 -17 are closed. This is because the frosts and snows don't melt from these holes as fast as the rest of the course. Please play from the mats on the tees. We keep the pins in the greens unless there is frost or if we feel that they may become too soft during the day. (thaw out) Please realize that the course is still checked everyday.

  • Finally, thanks for logging on.  I will continue to post information and update our progress as we move forward.  Feel free to give me a shout if you have any further questions.

Thanks

Matt
